Vets, Rabbit rescues and rabbit breeders all recommend that pet rabbits are neutered at an early age.  This prevents unwanted pregnancies  and can eliminate common cancer of the Uterus in Rabbits.  It makes it easier to bond rabbits together, and female rabbits inparticular will be more likely to continue to be happily paired after 6 months of age.

Female rabbits are known as does, and female guineapigs are known as sows; male rabbits are bucks and guinea pigs boars.

Ideally you should neuter a female rabbit before 6 months, and male rabbits when the testicles descend from the body.  As a precaution leave male rabbits for 4 weeks after neutering before putting them with female rabbits.

Un neutered bucks can develop a habit of spraying urine at their owners, a sign of affection in rabbit speak, but not nice for their owners or hutch mates, who can often turn yellow.
